Day of Disney

We made it to Disney World!! While this has been my 3rd time, it's Trinity's first and therefore the most fun for ME.
It's so satisfying to see the excitement and happiness on her face as she sees new and fun things.

We were in the Happy Dwarf parking lot. All the parking lots had different character-themed names.
At Minnie Mouse's cottage having a spot o' tea.
Gramps and Trinity in front of the monorail.

Trying on hats. This one got a thumbs up, but isn't the one she chose to buy.
On the ginormous carousel behind Cinderella's castle
There was a really awesome parade that went through the park several times a day. I truly applaud all those involved, because it HAS to be exhausting to constantly sing and dance around the Magic Kingdom.
Trinity is on Grampa's shoulders watching.
Climbing the beanstalk!
Here is another spectacular performance put on that involved the original Disney animal characters and the princesses...including her favorite, Aurora. For those of you less schooled in Disney princesses, that's Sleeping Beauty's real name ;)Here are the princesses. Aurora is to the left.
We got her hat of choice at the end of the day. Can you see the exhaustion in her eyes?!
Thanks Dad for an incredible Disney day!
I have a video of the parade that I'm desperately trying to upload....hopefully when I get a faster internet connection.
Stay tuned-it's VERY COOL.

Best.lunch.Ever.

This was a meal similar to one I had yesterday, and guess what.....
It's so darn delicious, I'm gonna have it again today :)
I made this vegan soup in my new food processor (thanks Nancy!)
It has spinach, tomatoes, carrots, celery, beets, lettuce, watercress, parsley, roasted red peppers & spices.
The folded "bread" next to the bowl, is a newfound delight-a savory pancake. Nope, not sweet, but oh so good-especially with that avocado smeared on top and then dipped in the soup!
I made the pancake with a gluten and dairy free all purpose flour, combined with flax meal as an egg replacer, and a pinch of baking powder.
Although I talk alot about food on my blog and how much I love and appreciate it in its purest form, I want to remind you what Jesus said in Luke 4:4,
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
So as you go about your day and enjoy your physical sustenance, don't forget to feed your soul with the everlasting nourishing Words of our Lord.

Gingerbread Man-ia :)

This little stinker has been begging to make gingerbread cookies for weeks!
I finally gave in today and threw a batch together.
She started clapping gleefully as I pulled him out of the oven, and ran to get the decorations.
Here he is, in all his gingerbread man glory.
He didn't last long. She decapitated him about 2.7 seconds after adorning him.
Poor guy never stood a chance! :)

ooooohhh......ahhhhhhhhhh.....BRRRRRRRRR!

It's no surprise that it snows in Wisconsin in December.
What is a surprise was that we got nearly a half month's worth in 24 hours! And that was after it had only snowed significantly once or twice before.
This measuring stick shows nearly 10 inches. But, there was a lot of blowing and drifting, and this pictures was taken before the snow stopped falling. I think the actual snowfall amount ended up being 12 inches.
Here's great shot of early morning snowfall...so peaceful, and before the wicked winds started up.
There were reports of thunder and lightning associated with this storm only a few miles away. Rare.
The whole family got a "snow day" and one of us never made it out of our pajamas ;)
I was going to say 2 of us, but Trinity DID secretly get herself completely dressed, with the exception of asking where I put her hat and mittens, and ready to head out.
I totally sounded like the mom in the movie "A Christmas Story." You know....."don't knock those icicles down, they'll put out your eye!" And, "don't play under the tree, those branches are heavy with snow and could fall on you!" To be fair, there WERE alot of downed tree branches that knocked out power.
She did manage to find a way to have fun despite my constant warnings :)
